Undone bob?! 😍 I can’t wait. You’re going to look spectacular!
How I Built This is such a fun listen. I really got into it during quarantine but haven’t listened since. Thank you for this reminder.
Just added Writers and Lovers to my TBR, I’ve been eyeing it and you’ve sold me.
And Scotland?! Ahhhh!!! I can’t wait to hear all about it. I think that may be Joe and I’s next big trip. One of my dreams is to retire there with some land, a donkey, some Highland cattle, and Valais Blacknose sheep.
I hope you gift us with a huge write up on your travels. I love hearing about all the food, the hiking, the adventures 😍
You're so sweet, my friend—I'm definitely relearning how to handle my new, much shorter hair, but we'll get there! 😅 And I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Writers & Lovers.
So: I will *absolutely* be sharing everything about my trip here (I mean, just try and stop me!), but also, I'd also be happy to hand over even more helpful specifics when you and Joe decide to visit! There's nothing better than leaning on friends for travel tips and ideas, IMHO...it's basically a vacation cheat code.
Let's keep in touch about your retirement plans, because I have a strong suspicion that our Scottish farming dream Venn diagram is actually a circle. Let's all go in on a tiny farm together?!
We will def take you up on the recs for Scotland. My mom’s side of the family are from the Highlands (Webb, my middle name is from my Scottish part of the family). I think it’s so important to visit our ancestral lands. Added that podcast to my cue and ABSOLUTELY let’s go in on a farm together 😍
I live for Briogeo's "Don't Despair, Repair!" deep conditioner. I've been using it for ages and my hair loves it. I hope you have a blast on your adventure, Maddie! Looking forward to seeing the new coif. (If you're air drying, Hairstory Hair Balm is the bomb.) xo
Thank you, friend! I got a free sample of their deep conditioner like...five years ago? And it was like I gave my hair a spa day! So luxurious, can't believe I haven't taken the plunge on that one yet. 🥰 (And I'm definitely taking notes on the air-dry balm!)
We must be on the same wavelength because I am about to go for my big chop tomorrow! I'm aiming for the curly version of the undone bob, so we can be twins! Now if I could just manifest a cheap flight to Edinburgh to twin with you in person...
I also loved that kitchen reno book, though, I am, in fact, planning a kitchen reno.
And as someone battling the fate of fine, straight, limp hair, I am trying that braid trick IMMEDIATELY. I assume they must put elastics to secure? I hope that doesn’t lead to more breakage.
Thanks for the shout-out. I’m so happy you liked the CR shrimp. 😊
Plenty of reno material coming eventually… but not soon. I had to part ways with my contractor, and the new guy I hired isn’t available until spring. 🙁
Omg I just got that book (writers and lovers) from a used bookshop on base! I agree it’s good so far.
Have fun on your euro trip! It’s been since college since I went to those places, I was mostly eating street schwarma and couchsurfing so I don’t have any tips. The art in Amsterdam is insane 🖼️ and the biking. There was an episode of Ted lasso in Amsterdam that highlighted how beautiful the city is! Enjoy
Somehow, I totally forgot about that magical Amsterdam episode of Ted Lasso and need to rewatch it immediately. And I will *absolutely* be eating street shawarma based on your rec...that sounds heavenly 😇

In the meantime, if you want to be transported, I can't recommend this podcast enough: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hebridean-baker/id1538831593

Oh wow, that is so special—now I feel personally invested in you guys making the trip there! 🤗 To be continued…

I'm so enjoying these postcards, Maddie!
I am SO excited to see the results tomorrow, Marissa—can you imagine us walking the streets of Edinburgh in our matching haircuts? 🥹
A DREAM!
Lily King is a great read! And Rebecca's newsletter is one of my favorites, her systems/approach is so helpful!
Isn't Rebecca the best?! And I'm so excited to finally be reading Lily King...I've heard nothing but great stuff!
Can't wait to see your new haircut!
Just got it chopped (and loving the change)—coming soon to a Zoom meetup near you! 😂
Thanks for the shout-out, Maddie! ❤️
And thanks (as always) for writing such a thoughtful piece! 🤗
SISTER FROM ANOTHER MISTER!!!

That recipe is going into my dinner rotation for sure! And if you figure out the hairstyle, let me know. My own styling skills are *very* amateurish!
Your kitchen comment cracked me up...FWIW, I've loved following along with your home reno journey 🤗

Oof. So frustrating, on both counts!! (Although I guess there's the silver lining of not living in a construction zone for another few months... 😅)
Yes! And a few more months to save for the inevitable 20% over budget! 🤪
YUP
you are so lovely and charming in your videos, and writing, Maddie. I wish I had half your talents.
Dad.
Also am a touch mystified as to why your site keeps refusing my password, but I'll probably figure that out in the morning.
Where do you think I got my talents from, Dad?! 😄 Love you so much. You're the best! (I can't help you with the password thing, though...)

I love this—we're book buddies!

I just finished writers and lovers and I’m so sad! It was so good! My fav kind of book I hate when those end.
The best/worst feeling! I'm halfway through and savoring each page 🥰
Tell me when you’re done so we can discuss !!!!
On it! 🫡
Ahhh I've always wanted to go to Edinburgh. Enjoy!
And that chocolate chip cookie....👀 (and the pizza too)
I’ll share plenty of photos so you can live vicariously! 🤩
Can't wait for that postcard post! (or an actual postcard :))
🤗
That ice cream and cookie picture. YUM!!!
Enjoy your upcoming trip to Europe. ✈️
Thanks so much, Kim! 🤗 I’m hungry for dessert now…
I went straight to the kitchen for a late night snack. 😂
Attagirl!!
Love all of this for you, can’t wait to see the cut!
Me neither! 😅🤞
