Congrats on the achievement! I never liked running, maybe because I wasn't good at it. I needed to be dribbling or kicking a ball or else I'd get bored easily.

I so appreciate it!! Honestly, that's a pretty sane outlook. When you start thinking too hard about why people run when they're not being chased, the logic gets...kind of iffy. 😅

You're the best, Dad. And let's not forget: I have you to thank for introducing me to running in the first place! ❤️

Love this! The best thing about a plan is you can change it. 💛💛

Agreed—a lesson I need to keep re-learning myself! 🤗

Congratulations, Maddie! That's so fantastic! I long to be a runner. I got out of running in school with a note for my asthma. I walk fast, including the steepest parts of my urban hikes, but running still hasn't stuck with me. Back when I was a gym rat, I decided I was going to take it on again, and start on the treadmill. It felt so good! But I noticed my left ankle hurt when I walked. No pain running on the treadmill, though! So I kept going, until I almost couldn't put any weight on my left foot. Just to check, one more time...nope, no pain running yet again. But I couldn't run around all day, and walking was truly painful at that point. Didn't bother going to the doctor about it. I was broke then and the simple answer was, "Don't run." One day, though. One day. You've inspired me to move that day up. xo

Thank you so much!! It's funny...there are so many running evangelists out there, and I try to stay away from that. It's not a form of movement that's accessible or fun for lots of people. Since it sounds like something you've always wanted to do, though, I'm totally keeping my fingers crossed that it's in the cards for you! It's fun to have an outlet for pushing the limits of your comfort zone every now and again...whether that's running, or rowing, or even writing. 🤗

Well, if I'm not pushing my comfort zone, I'm certainly pushing another's. 😏 Saving up for Hokas, both for walking and running. Irritated the fascia in my feet about 2 years ago and they haven't been the same since. My hooves need pampering now. Thanks again for the inspiration, Maddie. xo

Literally laughed out loud at the first line 😅 Hokas are a very worthy savings goal...from my try-on experience, they’re akin to walking on a cloud!
