God, I LOVE those big tasseled hotel room keys. OMG the rhubarb and yuzu pastries 😮💨 What a glorious weekend you had!!! 😍 Homesickness is so bittersweet. When I lived overseas my go-to homesick meal was McDonalds 😂 So gross but it gave me a taste of home. Royale with cheese HITS. One month my co-workers brought back American candy and I almost burst into tears, I was so happy. Sending you so much love and a squeeze, Maddie 🫂💘
It's so funny—I was at La Grande Épicerie with my aunt yesterday, and we wandered past the "États-Unis" section with its sugary BBQ sauces and Doritos and Reese's peanut butter cups. And even though it was kind of garish to see all of that next to the high-quality, gorgeous French products, I did feel a distinct rush of nostalgia 😂 You're so right: the Royale with cheese just HITS!! Sending a hug right back atcha, my friend 💕
Oh, I've been brought to tears by Toto's "Africa"...but only because I never want to hear it again...or again...or again. LOL. Don't get me started on "Rosanna". BUT if you want more Toto, the "Yacht Rock" doc on Max was delightful. Loving your adventures, Maddie. Eat it all up! xo
How much do I admire your sense of adventure! I’m facing 3 solo days in Paris next fall and slightly dreading it, which is NOT how I want to feel about my time in the City of Light! I’ll have to borrow some of your bravado!
Well, I was *completely* anxious/terrified about figuring out solo life here initially…so the confidence came with time and exposure therapy! 😅
